Eliyahu is the harbinger of the redemption and we have a tradition that mashiach will not arrive right before, or during shabbat so as not to disturb the Jewish people's preparation and celebration. Gevald how high is shabbos, a moment to spend true quality time with your closest friends, family, and loved ones, that Hashem waits to bring mashiach so we can enjoy it.
