Yosef Shia Friedman z”l had a special connection to Shabbos zemiros. He loved taking the beautiful, familiar words of the zemiros and singing them to tunes people already knew and loved. It was his way of making the words easier to connect to, and even more enjoyable to sing around the Shabbos table.
In honor of Yosef Shia’s first yahrtzeit, we’re sharing one of his favorite combinations, Menucha V’Simcha, in his memory.
May the music and the words continue to bring joy to Shabbos tables, just as he always wanted.
