This story begins 23 years ago.
We were 9 and 7 years old, and Yosef Karduner had just released his first album "Road Marks" (featuring "Shir Lama'alot" which despite only being available on cassette somehow reached jews all over the world and easily became one of the biggest jewish music of all time.
We used to listen to this album on a cassette on the way to school every day for a long period of time – and even as young kids we could tell that there was something more here than just great songs with beautiful production – it made us feel a deep sense of connection with this holy and sincere voice.
23 years later, to have Yosef sing this song with us as part of our ongoing Shabbat Album Project is really something that is so incredibly special, and genuinely humbling.

“The Shabbat Album” is a concept album which aims to encourage the whole world to sing the songs of Shabbat.
It comprises the sacred songs we grew up singing together every Shabbat (both around the family table and up on the bima in Hale Shule where our dad served as community Rabbi for over 30 years.
To reflect the inclusive & unifying spirit we hope this album captures, each song features a different artist/friend and comes complete with a text-focused visual accompaniment.
